The seders

I mentioned having my sister at the Seder by Skype, and that was wonderful.

Yesterday, neither Lis nor I were feeling well, so we ditched the second Seder, which was disappointing, but we're both feeling mostly better now, so that's okay.

Did I mention that I ran the seder at my parents' house? I did. I ran a short but complete one, because we had pre-teens there with limited attention spans, plus people that really needed to be able to leave by 9 or so, because they had early appointments the next morning.

And I did it! We sat down at about six, six-thirty, got to the meal by seven thirty, finished eating by, oh, eight forty or so, and finished the second half of the seder in about twenty minutes. We didn't do any singing afterward -- no Had Gadya, Ani Echad Mi-Yodeah, or Adir Hu, which was a little disappointing -- it would have been fun to sing with the family -- but we managed to do everything that's required, with people being interested and participating.

It was, frankly, wonderful to be with family.

WONDERFULNESS

Yes, this was an especially wonderful seder. With you leading, our grandkids following, your sister at one end of the table, my parents at the other, a few more from your mothers family, plus the smile on your mothers face. I am amazed at how much of an afterglow remains. Plus we had 4 generations at the table! It gets no better.

it was wonderful - thanks to you, Lis, and some other adults in the family, everything went very smoothly - you did a great job leading the seder - let's practice some songs on your guitar to add next year - thanks for all you did to make it a special holiday
