Petrodex Cat Dental Treats.
Looking at the Amazon reviews, I see that the reviews are all over the map. Which makes sense: it's a cat treat; some cats will love 'em and some will hate them. But Nick and Nora are both in the "love 'em" category.
The Petrodex Cat Dental treats are small stubby cylinders of some sort of modestly stinky animal byproduct wrapped in a relatively tough and chewy animal byproduct wrapper. The idea is that, in chewing through the wrapper, the cats will clean their teeth somewhat.
Here's what I know.
1. Somehow, even though the treats themselves are modestly stinky, our cats' breath is much, much LESS stinky after they get the treats.
2. Their teeth look kind of clean, I guess.
3. The cats LOVE the things, and go crazy for them. They're currently kept in a glass screw-top jar, because Nick managed to rip open all previous containers.
4. They bounce. You can stand at one end of the hall, and bounce a treat down the hall, and one of the cats will get it, and then you toss ANOTHER treat in a DIFFERENT direction, and the cat who didn't get the treat will stop trying to shove the first cat away, and go chasing after the second treat, allowing both cats to simultaneously get treats. I only discovered this trick today, and it worked GREAT.
Cat treats that are chase-able. A wonderful invention.
