It sounds delicious. Question - are there any cocktails that capture the spice notes of India? If I were going for something complicated, I might try that. A mojito style drink with cardamom and a bit of chili for heat? Or something blended with mango, lime and chili? [edit - now that I think of it, I've got this saffron infused gin, which might work well in an Indian style cocktail]
Also, check out the Ransom Old Tom gin. Park Ave Liquors has it. Stuff is amazing, and has significant cardamom in. It doesn't taste anything like any other gin, including any other Old Tom gin, I've ever had. It tastes more like an Indian-influenced liqueur. Although obviously not as sweet as a liqueur -- SOME sweetness, but not cordial-sweet.
I was having a blast, and I felt like I was right in my comfort zone. I totally didn't expect to win, and I didn't, so that wasn't an issue. Which meant that there was no stress. I was confident that my drink wasn't an embarrassment and wasn't a winner, and I was right on both counts. And I felt like I looked professional and competent and I felt professional and competent.
