I LOST my fucking Flair, and want, so much, to replace it. Does anyone still even have them? I mean, I'm a bartender. I actually USED the flair regularly, although mainly as a backup, because I have brand preferences in wine openers, and there are some very good single-purpose waiters' corkscrews which work better at high speed.

But my Flair, if I remember it correctly, DID have some brass chasing on the screw and the lever. Which may be why I'm reacting so . . . Pavlovian-ly to the yellow flash.

Sadly, I'm not aware of any reliable way to get the Flair these days. Maybe occasional Ebay auctions. The screw and the lever/bottle-opener are indeed brass, the latter etched with grape clusters. These days I mostly use a fancy water-pump-style corkscrew at home, but as with the other frequently-used tools, having one always in my pocket is often worth more than having the perfect tool further away.
