Tom Smith just said on his LJ that Robert Asprin, author of the Myth Adventures and Phule's Company books, as well as others, died suddenly this morning.
Tom and Bob were friends for many years, so he seems like a reliable source. May Bob rest in peace. I hope his family finds comfort in their grief. Bob had a tremendous influence on Michigan fandom, especially when I was just starting out (15-20 years ago). He seemed larger than life. The comments on Tom's LJ are starting to look like a wake, as people gather to remember. (I've never seen Tullamore Dew at a shiva.)
