And, to the two people one my friends list -- both Jewish -- whose birthdays were today -- um. . . happy birthday?
At the end of Yom Kippur, we are in the state of greatest harmony with the world, with G-d, and with each other that we have all year.
Guess how long Lis and I lasted before having a fight?
Who put your money on -15 minutes? Yeah, Lis and I started arguing right after Nillah, and before Ma'ariv. Not only before we left the shul, but actually before the services were over. Annoyingly, all of Lis's totally irrational and totally unfounded things that she said ended up happening, proving that she was right. . . Lis and I fight a lot. But I think we're both cool with that fact. So long as both people fight a lot, and it's not unbalanced where one person fights and the other person curls up and withdraws, and both people are comfortable with fighting, and the fighting is basically fair, and there is never, ever, ever even the HINT of the threat of violence, I think it's okay. Which is how we do it.
