It took me most of my life to realize that Juicy Fruit gum is clove-flavored.

I never knew that and was just talking about various gums, including Juicy Fruit, yesterday. I suppose it may have taken 51% of my life to hear this...

Oh, the thing I forgot to mention in this, though: I've been chewing that gum for most of my life. And it just never clicked that "the flavor of Juicy Fruit" and "the flavor of cloves, and even more specifically, Beekman's Clove Gum" were similar.

Ah, well, I never tried Beekman's. Now I'm curious about it. I mostly have switched to mints - Myntz to be exact, but they don't make a cinnamon version. I'm more of a fan of cinnamon as far as gum.

I was just thinking beekman's and juicy fruit weren't similar -- but haven't tasted either in at least 30 years.

They're very different; Jucy Fruit is a lot sweeter and Beekman's Clove is a lot spicier. But it's the same basic flavor.
