Well, the cat's STILL got a bladder infection, so she's now on antibiotics for six weeks. The vet gave us chewable tablets which we can hopefully put in her food -- early signs are enouraging. I just crumbled one up and mixed it with tuna juice, and she seems to have consumed it.

Lis's father just called her: he has found and purchased a purple Camry at the auction; I don't yet know how much we owe him for it. [UPDATE: Lis's grandfather is paying for it!!!] A Camry is a "Use This Thing To Get People And Stuff From Place To Place In Reasonable Comfort At Reasonable Speed For Reasonably Cheap" type car, which is what I want. They're not flashy, or impressive. They just do what you want a car to do. Which is what I love about our Olds Cutlass Ciera.

Cars send messages. Just like clothes, and manners of speaking. The message that the Ciera, and the Camry, send is "I am not sending a message." But, see, that IS a message, and it's a message I want to send: I want people to understand that I'm not using my car to impress anyone. Okay, I admit: if the car reliably starts up when I turn the key, and it goes places and works and all, that's pretty darned impressive around here. . . but still.

And, you add to that the PURPLENESS of being purple, and I think I'm going to be pleased with this. Now we just need to figure out how to get to Florida in order to get it

Get well, kitty cat! Yay car!

I have a little extra money this week, if you need any contributions to the travel fund. If you don't I shall send it elsewhere, so let me know.

We had a dog who was extremely prone to urinary tract infections, and solved this problem by giving her cranberry extract pills. I'm not at all sure how one would go about getting a cat to swallow something like that (they were large, and not splittable, and we're having enough trouble getting halved Flagyl tablets into one of our cats even with a piller), but if it can be done it might speed your cat toward not having such an infection any longer, and might be good to keep on hand should she get another one when you haven't got immediate access to a vet for whatever reason.

The cranberry capsules I have claim they can be made into a tea. Of course, I don't know if cranberry tea would be good for cats, so this is merely a datapoint and not a recommendation.

If you don't mind my asking, I'd be curious about what message, if any, you perceive a Saturn (L200, if that matters) as sending.
