Another sucessful kill for Nick and Nora. We have been getting one mouse a year last couple years. One mouse will wander in -- and not wander out. The night before last, Lis thought she heard something in the wall. So did Nora.

Last night, as we were watching TV, we saw the cats running up and down the hall, flipping something furry and mouse-sized into the air and catching it. It was well and truly dead long before we saw it. Nicky managed to toss it into a box, and had to knock the box over to get it out. I picked it up and threw it in the covered trash can, and then we gave the cats treats to reward their work.

There is one other possibility, though. Rachel and her cat Nina moved out of the downstairs apartment yesterday, so it is possible that it was a mouse that Nina nailed a couple days ago, and our cats just found dead and started playing with. But I'm going to give our guys credit for the kill, because of the previously-detected mouse in OUR walls.

As far as we know, three mice have gotten into our apartment, and none have gotten out.

We bring mice into our home, as friends for our ancient (22 year old) corn snake. Sadly, they aren't friends for very long...

Really? I'd assume the corn snake is very fond of them.

Us, we won't buy mice for our cats, but any who walk in of their own volition are on their own lookout.

Oh, they are very close friends. One might even say it's the corn snake's consuming passion. But it never lasts...
