xiphiasJust got the call back from the garage. "I'm really sorry. This is the hardest call I ever have to make. But, we've really looked at your car, and we just don't think we should do anything to it."
The list of things that are wrong with it is long. Nothing dangerous -- the one system that works fine is the brakes. The car's not going to kill us. But it is likely to strand us somewhere. Everything that can leak is leaking, everything that can corrode is corroded. They don't know what shape the battery is in because the wires to it are corroded enough that they can't get good data. It goes on like that.
Let's put it this way. Bruce wants us to keep the loaner car for the weekend, because he doesn't want us driving up to Vermont in our car.
So, now we're looking at craigslist and trying to decide what kind of car (i.e. what price point and condition) we're looking for. We could get a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria Police Special for $2000!
