ummm why exactly is this needed? expecting a shooting during the holidays? What other purpose would it serve? Unless of course the Satmars and Lubavitchers start packing heat during services and you stumble in the wrong shteibel ...
Along with the Sword Cane, I have a belt buckle that is about 4 inches across. Looks like mother of pearl with a diagonal, stainless steel strip. Slight pressure with the left thumb and you have a (fold-out) knife with a 4 inch blade. e-Bay special. :o)
I assume that Kevlar is significantly less flexible than the thin cotton they normally use for tallitot katan. In that case, it would be rather uncomfortable compared to the traditional vest. You’d have a hard time tucking the bottom edge of the garment into your waistband, for example. But I could be wrong.
There was a fascinating New Yorker article a while back about a guy (in Brazil, I think) who specializes in making, shall we say, bulletproof haute couture (you can imagine the class of people that would have a special interest in that kind of clothing). If anyone can turn your idea into a marketable product, he can.
I can't think of anybody. Sure, there are people who want to wear tallitot katan and kevlar vests--that doesn't mean it makes sense to combine them. There's a reason for wearing the tallit katan under the shirt and just leaving it in place all day, and the kevlar on top of it where it can go on and off--enough kevlar to be usefully protective is heavy enough to be uncomfortable, so they want to take it off when they're inside a safe place. I also wonder about guys working a night shift. They would need a plain kevlar vest anyhow, and it's expensive to have two.
