Do you read [livejournal.com profile] bradhicks's LJ? He's really good at looking at parts of issues that I, for one, wouldn't have thought of on my own. Agree or disagree with him, he's worth reading.

Anyway, in his most recent post, he points out a possible factor in why Tom Barrett lost (rather than why Scott Walker won) -- the gun vote.

You might want to read it. Agree or disagree, he brings out points that would not have occurred to me.

He may be on to something. I know my cousin in Michigan thought Barrett was a bad choice for just that reason.

But not the hunting vote, given that he wanted to only grant hunting permits to people with a reasonably high ability to invest cash. (I have a friend in Wisconsin who subsistence hunts.)

Does that mean that your friend would basically be screwed if Barrett won? I mean, no matter how much I supported unions, if voting for the pro-union guy meant that I'd personally starve, I'd have a real hard time doing so.

No, Walker's the one who wanted deer hunting to be limited to the wealthy.
