Sep. 13th, 2011 08:02 amLis and I were playing the "What Kind of Cat Are You" game (from the song -- you know, "What kind of cat is a big disaster? A catastrophe! What kind of cat is an even bigger disaster? A cataclysm! What kind of cat is the capital of Nepal? Kathmandu! What kind of cat is off the coast of Southern California? Catalina Island!")
Lis goes, "What kind of cat is a big, fancy car?"
"A Cadillac!" I say.
"I would also have accepted 'Jaguar.'"
Okay, I thought it was funny.

"And what kind of cat is a listing of the articles of faith of the Catholic Church?"
"Catechism!"
It's a GREAT game! You'd LOVE playing it with him!

Date: 2011-09-14 04:18 am (UTC)Concept-thinking. I told my Cousin's 8 year old that we could have a secret language together. So, now when he says, "Uncle Bud, can I have a Gum Ball?", I respond with "Does a one-legged duck swim in circles?" and he goes immediately for the gum jar.
It seems to be spreading in Aberdeen, WA :o)
(Think about it. If you were in a Canoe and only paddled from one side, wouldn't you go in circles?)
There are many more from when my nephew was little, that I intend to pass on to the 8 yr old; 'Doctor Doctor' (the old joke about (patient): "it hurts when I do this" (Doc): "then don't do that"; 'Chicken Soup'; 'Does a Weasel have feathers?'... so many missing from my stressed-out memory bank.
Answers:
1 - Don't do that
2 - It may not help but it can't hurt
3 - No
