Our cat Nick licks necks.

xiphiasOur cat Nick is very affectionate. If we're lying there, he'll just lick our necks, for instance. So much so that, this morning, Lis started calling him "Neck-Lick Nick," for Neck-Lick Nick's neck-lick knack. He also licks our lips, and, if he gets too worked up, he might even nip. So Neck-Lick Nick has a knack for licking and nipping lips and nipping and licking necks. He also sometimes just falls asleep on us, so he will nap in laps and on necks. Neck-Lick Nick knack is to nip necks, nap on laps, and lick necks. We don't have a knick-knack that explains Nick's knacks, though.
But we love our lip-lapping, lap-napping, neck-nipping Neck Lick Nick.

Date: 2011-07-18 11:26 pm (UTC)I was complaining one time, about the cat's rough tongue. My Grampa asked me if I knew why the cat licked me, more than other?
"No sir." says I
He says, "You eat a lot more salt than the average person, don't you?"
"Well," says I, "I don't know..."
"Bud, who do you think you're talking too?" he says, with that 'respect' demanding look in his eye.
"Well, I guess I do like a pinch now and then..." I admits.
"So does the cat!" he says, as he walks back to the Orchard, to thin more apples...
A wise old man, my Grampa - born in 1889, died in 1976.
Worked every day he could. Even when his eyesight was so bad, he couldn't tell how many tiny, little apples were growing on the end of the branch, he was still out there, thinning by feel.
Had no use for "rockin' chair money", until we finally convinced him that he had it coming. He was 84 when he accepted it.
Kept a bottle of Peppermint Schnaps under his bed, just in case of a cough in the night.:o)
