This morning, our cat Nick heard the garbage truck, and ran to the front window to watch it. Just now, the standard town emergency-response mix of emergency vehicles pulled up across the street -- fire engine, ambulance, and two cruisers -- what they prefer to send out on an emergency call, just to be able to deal with any eventuality. Nick ran to the front window again, and is watching them, fascinated.

Our cat is SUCH a preschooler. . . .
