I am dear friends with most of my exes, but not with two violent and abusive ones. I cannot be alone in having had those experiences.

If I weren't one of the fortunate people to whom xiphias refers I might have had this same reaction to his post, but since he's one of the people who helped me deal with the damage caused by my abusive and violent ex I know he knows he's particularly fortunate, as well as a fortune.
