Robert J. Lurtsema's "Morning pro musica", with a radio style nobody could fake. He'd intersplice birdsong and classical music with stretches of silence to ease you awake.

I learned about double dactyls from one of his programs.

When I was little it was hard for me to wake up to him. But, he was calming.

I know! I loved the birdsong too. I wonder if his show used to play in the Midwest too, because when I was a little kid my grandfather used to send me cassettes of birdsong and classical music, both of which I think he taped off the radio.

I miss Robert J. I fondly remember an April 1st show in which he introduced a five hour program dedicated to Kodo Drumming and Indian Ragas.

I really do miss Morning Pro Musica. He earned his nickname "Dead Air", but he did it in a really good way, I thought. It was also amusing to hear him read the news. Ah, well.
