"Did you lock yourself out?"
No, not my wife. The third woman I dated (depending on how you count), but the first woman who I was serious enough about to have actual romantic love for, is
jehanna, who just this month moved into our downstairs apartment.

If it was Zoe, the first woman I had a crush on in high school, I would invite her in for tea, and to catch up. I've always known, even in high school, that we would go our seperate ways; and I've always fantasized about meeting years later, in our sixties or so, and comparing notes on everything that had happened in our lives. I've even thought of trying to write a story about it - though frankly, I imagine being the one showing up on her doorstep.
...but if I were using your definition, it would be Eric... well, he called himself Eric when I knew him, but that wasn't his real name (which I don't know with any certainty); he was the spitting image, and I mean the spitting image, of Lis' character in your Elizabethan campaign. I always meant to say something about that, because it can be dangerous to offend fairies, and I thought what you were (are) doing was potentially offensive; but I was always more afraid of offending Lis, and worried that you wouldn't believe me.
