I know what you mean. I hate that. And I don't mean that in the whole dumb-joke "rawr everything pisses me off INCLUDING BEING PISSED OFF" sense. I mean that I am aware of being in that state and unhappy about it, but never quite sure how to kick back out of it.
Yeah, I play (certain kinds of) video games for this too. The best description / explanation I've found is here (ignore the title).
I tend to chose computer games that will do this for me; it's not that I think it's a good simulation, but that I want a bad simulation where I can do things that I can't do in real life and get away with it.
