Lis and I are finally getting a membership to the local YMCA. In touring the place, I slipped next to their whirlpool. The person showing us around was quite worried, but I told him I was fine, and I mostly am. I didn't hit my head, land on my tailbone, or do any of the other things which tend to cause REAL slip-and-fall injuries. I DID, however, slightly twist my shoulder in catching myself. That's the only damage, but it's limiting my range of motion. Nothing feels seriously damaged, broken, torn, or SERIOUSLY bruised, but it's limiting the range of motion of my shoulder.
.
But I'm gently stretching it, and the range of motion is improving every time. I figure, a couple anti-inflammatories and some rest, and I'll be good as new.

Ice is probably a good idea, too. It's hard to go wrong with ice.

I will restate this in stronger terms:

Do not neglect to ice, the sooner the better.

eeek! Glad you are okay! It's so disorienting to fall as an adult.

Meh, it doesn't bother me. I've done enough martial arts and stage combat that I'm pretty used to falling down, and I know how to do it more-or-less safely. So the disorientation isn't really a problem.

Just make sure you did not damage your rotator cuff which requires surgery to repair.
