Most folks didn't show up. As it turned out, only two of my students and four parents showed up (three from one student, one from another). Also, the director of the school and his wife and kid.
It was fun. I love my students. Annissiya, whose house we were at, at one point, was talking on the toy cell phone yelling, "Yes, yes, yes, yes . . . are you LISTENING? I JUST SAID YES to everything! Oh, I can't talk now, the phone's on fire."
Lis and I decided that, next telemarketer that calls us, we're using the "gotta go, phone's on fire" line.
Ella showed us some Tai Kwan Do, and, when Annissiya pulled out her Barbie Karioke thingy, sang a couple things. They were all about her mother, Jane Becker. First, she sang, "Jane" -- that is, she took the mike, and sang the word "Jane", then sat down, then she did the same thing with the word "Becker", then the same thing with the words "Poofy Hair".
As we were leaving, Annissiya was talking into the toy cell phone again, and, as we said goodbye to her, said, "See you Sunday!" to us, then turned to the cell phone and said, "No, not you!"
