So, for no good reason, Bed Bath and Beyond had Red Vines, the candy, for sale. So, as I've never had them before, I bought some.

They taste nasty and are only barely edible. However, they do make good straws for soda, which is, I gather, what you're supposed to do with them.

The fact that Bed, Bath and Beyond stocks Red Vines is just...fucked up. Maybe the corporate buyer was drunk or something.

Do they sell anything else that alleges to be food? (I've never been to one of their stores.)

Most big-box stores like that have a display at the front with various random candy in paper-and-cellophane packets. Red Vines are often among them, also those burnt-sugar peanuts, circus peanuts (the weird marshmallowy things), candy necklaces, sweet-tarts, that sort of thing. Very standard.

I don't know if it was BB&B, but I first found Terra Chips at one of the housewares stores.

They're yummy, and now that I know they exist, I buy them at Kroger for a lot less.

I didn't know we had any Krogers around here. Where is the one you go to?

Alcoa, Tennessee.

I apologize for misleading you; I know Xiphias from Usenet and followed him here, but am not a local.

Don't worry--this was not you, this is him. He always does that.

Yes; near the cash registers, they have a selection of "movie-box" sized candy.

no good reason[...]I bought some

Sounds like a good reason for them to have some.

Red vines are less nasty when they're not stale. I've voluntarily eaten them.

See, when I first had Red Vines, I was all, "eh, what's the big deal?" But they're sneaky -- I don't buy them much, but they're hard to not eat if they're around.

Red Vines? What are Red Vines? I guess I didn't give you enough nasty junk food when you were growing up.
