Don't forget folks: today is the day that we're trying to keep the entire Senate switchboard lit up with calls opposing Bush's war. Sign up at The MoveOn Win Without War Webpage.

I phoned and said that, while I acknowlege the necessity of the United States using force at times to protect itself and its national interests, I do not support this war at this time, primarily because I do not trust the Bush administration. I feel that the current administration has a pattern of actions in which context this war looks very sinister.

If you'd like to participate, go to the link, read the info. Go ahead and call the Capitol switchboard at 1-800-839-5276. (You just phone that number, a nice person says, "Capitol," and you ask for the office of the Representative or Senator you'd like the office of.)

I wonder if I could just sing this song to them. Think that would work?

Thanks for the reminder, Ian.

For what it's worth, someone at the Peaceworks meeting last night said that, when you call, you should mention that you'd like a response; evidently that will get you shuttled to a different phone line and those calls will be given more "weight" than people who simply leave their opinions. (The person who mentioned this said he got it from a Congressional staffer).

I'm making my calls shortly.
