I was having a late lunch at a restaurant with a tv set over the bar. As I left, I looked at it; NE 21 - IND 3. OK, that should do it...
Wander by work after a Costco run, check the score and go "What the hell!" then watch the play-by-play from ESPN wondering what the heck is going on, but thinking there are worse things that Brady having to do a 1 minute drill to win...then see the INT.
So much for that Pats - Da Bears (without Ditka) rematch.
It was an amazing game all the way through. We only started watching in the second quarter, so we missed some of the wacky weird plays -- but one thing to note about the game is that I think that three linebackers scored touchdowns.
I mean, yeah.
For those who aren't familiar with American football, linebackers are blockers whose job it is to get in the way of the people who are actually trying to score, or, when their team is trying to score, are there to stop the people trying to stop THEIR scorers. They don't score points themselves. They just shouldn't be in a position to do so. If things get scrambled up enough that a linebacker is in a position to score, something really weird is happening.
It was a good game, and the Colts earned their come-back. When it was Patriots winning 21-3, I figured the game was in the bag. But, as the saying goes, you have to play both halfs of the game. I think the interception was a relief for the Patriots new kicker, he did not have to do a Vinneteri level miracle kick with Vinny watching :-)
Um, I don't think so. The Pats' kicker was irrelevant at that point. The Pats were down by four points, so they needed a touchdown. Not even Adam Vinatieri can kick a four-point field goal.

It happened three times in this game.
