Seeing folks

xiphiasYesterday, I got to see a friend of mine from high school. Henry lives in Seattle, now, working for EvilCorp, but his duties are mainly ceremonial: he works in Microsoft's Theoretical Mathematics Group. Basically, he gets to work on the sphere packing problem in N dimensions, and get paid for it.
He looks good: he looks like a grown-up mathematician now, instead of a teenaged one: a little less hair on top, fuller beard, maybe a bit heavier. It was good seeing him. I met him,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
undauntra and vonbeck for pho in Harvard Square: Henry's a vegetarian, but Pho Pasteur has enough veg stuff that he was happy. He and undauntra seemed to hit it off okay (we were just a bit afraid she'd attempt to kill him, disguise herself as him, and take his job, but she didn't.)
