So, we screwed up on meeting [livejournal.com profile] teddywolf to see movies, but other than that, it was good.

The Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square does $8 double-features. Tonight, it was an Eighties Dada fairy-godmother-of-sex story followed by the best geek film ever.

Weird Science was enjoyable enough, I guess, but I think it would have been better had it had a plot, characters, or coherence. Or maybe even several of the above. It had some good lines: best line, as a post-holocaust mutant biker leaves a party after terrorizing the party-goers: "Could we just keep this between us? I don't want to lose my teaching job. . . ." The "perfect woman" character was moderately sexy, I guess. And it does have a fantastic theme song by Oingo Boingo. I'd never seen it before, and I doubt I'll go out of my way to see it again.

Real Genius, on the other hand, is one of my favorite movies of all time. This is the second time I've seen it on the big screen, and it works even better big than it does on video. And it's got JORDAN!!!! Yaaay!

After the movie, we chatted with some of the people who'd been sitting around us, and I made the comment that, growing up, I had the hugest crush on Jordan, and I promised myself I'd marry her when I grew up.

So I did.

One person made the comment that he'd never realized that Alyssa Hannigan was just a second-rate knock-off. . . .

Let's face it. Jordan is about a quadrillion times sexier than the character "Lisa" from Weird Science.
