We went to the mall today to buy clothes for Lis, and were there for three or four hours or so, and when we got home, I went to sleep, at about six thirty. And I woke up three hours later, having had such odd dreams. . .
There was some sort of experiment I was working on, and when the energy surge destroyed the soap bubble (in a nice wooden frame) I was using as a magnifying glass to study it, it managed to make the small icon of a baby in the bottom right corner into a real baby, who began maturing at an accelerated rate. She said her first word just about five minutes later -- it was "wombat" I believe. When she was about fourteen or sixteen, a couple hours later, I explaned to her about how she was growing at an accelerated rate, and that she'd been accidentally created from a lab experiment, and that I loved her very much and she was my daughter, but there was a chance that she'd be dead of old age by the next day, but there was also a chance that she was actually immortal, plus, of course, the third chance that, when she reached adulthood in a couple hours, she'd just stop growing.
She already knew that, because there were some things that she just knew instinctively, and I think she was actually immortal. Or maybe was going to die the next day. But in any case, she was cool with it.
So I got her together with a bunch of friends who I thought would be good role models for her, given that situation.
jehanna, obviously, was one of them, as was Diana, who, in real life, I've not seen in years and years.
There was another someone or other who was in a similar situation, but he may have been an alien or something instead of having been created as a lab experiment, and he kind of latched onto me, too. But he and my daughter couldn't stand each other and so we kept trying to keep them apart from each other. Of course, by that point, she was somebody else, and I think so was I, and we were in a national park, or maybe a beach, or maybe a submarine. Something like that, anyway.
