Tatties and neeps. MY version.
Dec. 14th, 2013 08:39 pmMy version of tatties and neeps has little to do with ACTUAL tatties and neeps, except that it is made out of potatoes and turnips. Which, I admit, is a pretty big similarity. However, other than that, I went in another direction.
Scottish tatties and neeps is mashed-up potatoes and YELLOW turnips -- aka swedes, aka rutabagas. Then you add butter and nutmeg and ginger. However, mine was PURPLE-top turnips and cheese.
I took approximately the same volume of purple-top and potatoes, and a white onion, and boiled them all for, like, an hour. Then I threw them into the Kitchenaid with a half-stick of butter, and a bunch of cheese, and blended it up.
It is good.
