Odd kitchen realizations.

food_porn or
failed_recipe. Sometimes, it could probably go in both.
"Hmm. I wonder what the actual, official conversion rate is from 'fresh garlic' to the 'minced garlic in the jar' that I tend to use. Let's see. Look at the jar. . . '1/2 Teaspoon = 1 Clove of Garlic.' Okay. How much did I just use in that recipe? Oh, I guess that looks like, oh, maybe a cup or so. So, what does that work out to? Hmm. Maybe something like a hundred cloves of garlic. Well, I told Lis I was making 'garlic-butter sauce' for the tortelini, not 'butter-garlic sauce', so I guess it's okay."
Yeah. I like garlic. And I know how this recipe will turn out, and it actually IS what I'm going for. But I hadn't ever really worked out just how much garlic I tend to use. . .
