On fridge cleaning
Feb. 9th, 2005 11:02 pmSo, it's trash day today, so I was going through the fridge, throwing out anything that had spoiled, something that I probably SHOULD do every week, but actually do every couple of months. When Lis nags me sufficiently. I pulled out a single-serving yogurt container that had been sitting in the back for months, and opened it up. The stuff inside was chunky. And it smelled. . . like bleu cheese.
Then I realized that it was bleu cheese dressing. Much less scary than I originally thought. I threw it out anyway.
Yeah, I'm one of those people who re-uses food containers for leftovers. It's mostly a good thing -- frankly, the stuff that food is shipped in is generally MORE sturdy and easy to use than Tupperware is. But it leads to some odd moments, like that one.
Or like the time that Lis was poking through the fridge looking for a snack, and I heard her yelp.
"AAAH!", she said, "There's COTTAGE CHEESE in the cottage cheese container!"
