Dec. 9th, 2002 11:16 pmTonight, I really wanted sushi. So Lis and I went down to the sushi place in the center of town, and, after looking at the menu, I decided that what I really wanted was a bowl of sushi rice with whatever fish and veggies the sushi chef wanted to put on top if it.
There was tuna, and salmon, and tamago, and mackerel, and radish sprouts, and cucumber, and that fakey-crab-stick-that-isn't-actually-crab, and some fish I didn't really recognize, and octopus.
I normally hate octopus. And mackerel. But I'd decided that I'd try everything the chef decided to give me. And the mackerel was actually not that bad. And the octopus was actively good. I didn't eat the suckers, but I ate about half of each piece.
I missed going to
teddywolf's game night, but I did get over to Kinko's to pick up some stuff we dropped off yesterday to have done. They hadn't even started it. So I waited around for them to do it, and the knocked 20% off the price, which was decent. Then I bought Pillsbury cookie dough for Lis, and came home.
Oh yeah, and this afternoon, I took the rest of the cranberry sauce that was left over from Thanksgiving, and made cranberry fruit leather.
Boy, this was a banal livejournal entry. I guess the important life lesson is, "cranberry fruit leather is yummy, and so is octopus, when prepared by someone who REALLY knows what zie's doing. And Kinko's is really swamped at this time of year."

Date: 2002-12-10 05:10 am (UTC)This is something I have been thinking about in terms of my own journal. No, not your banality. The banality of my own journal. I can write funny, sarcastic, ranting prose. But it takes energy, and thought, and a particular frame of mind. But, you know, this is your journal. The fact that your friends (and random people) can look over your shoulder and scrawl in the margins doesn't detract from the fact that it's yours. If you wanted to have a weekly entries be a note of how much cat poop you emptied from the litter box that week, that would be fine. I wouldn't read those entries, but still...
