Job search stuff
Jul. 7th, 2004 10:15 pmDropped off three more resumes at the three bars on Exchange Street in Malden Center.
All three bar managers I talked to had relatively thick Irish accents. Nobody is hiring right now, but I expected that. The point is that, if I keep doing this, eventually SOMETHING will work.
I actually like how the Honey Fitz is set up. There were maybe half a dozen people in there when I went in, mostly Irish, mostly in their fifties or sixties. But it was the middle of the afternoon. Dunno what the crowd is like at night. There's a couple pool tables, a couple dartboards. Bunch of Irish beers on draft -- Harp, Killians, maybe a half dozen in total. And draft beers are three bucks for a pint, which isn't bad for Boston. I may actually go there for beer even if I don't get the job.

I mean, are these actual immigrants from Ireland, or are you using the word in some other way?
