Was going to make chili tonight, with the leftover hamburger that Mom sent home with us a couple days ago.

If your beef smells like fish, it's time to throw it out.

Actually, if your fish smells like fish, it's time to throw it out.

As long as I'm grumbling: at work today, when I was wiping lipstick off of a coffee mug, the handle broke off in my hand and slashed my fingertip. It was annoying -- took some doing to get it to stop bleeding, and I was careful cutting citrus fruits for the rest of the day, but it was neither serious nor painful. Still, *gripe*. Also, whoever closed the Grill Bar on Saturday night didn't do all the special "closing the Grill Bar on Saturday night" things. Like throwing out all the old garnishes and washing the garnish tray. So I had to do all the Saturday night "out with the old" before being able to do my Monday morning "in with the new" making new garnishes, iced tea, and so forth. Then, one of the waiters didn't show, which would normally be okay, because Mondays are always totally dead, except, of course, I was working, so it was busy enough that I came out from behind the bar to cover a couple tables, which I don't mind doing, except I'm not actually a very good waiter. I'm an okay waiter, but not a great one. But we handled everything okay.

Normally, this shift goes from 10:30 to 4; they actually scheduled me until 6, because the night bartender's day job was possibly going to run until five thirty, but he was at the Club by 5, so I left then. This week, there is almost nothing going on at the Club -- there are only three shifts available to non-Union people. And I got two of them -- today, and barbacking tomorrow evening.

On a mostly unrelated note, your balisong bottle opener is here at our house.

Thought so. Once other people started playing with it, I thought there was a good chance that would happen. Feel free to use it if you need it until I get by to pick it up. :)
