Side note : the program, as has been pointed out to me, doesn't track comments on filtered or friends only posts.... which can skew the numbers for some people quite a bit.

That sounds rather strange to me. The way I understood it, it is getting it's input from the export_comments.bml page, which is what the back-up clients use to download comments, and they do manage to get the filtered comments. The only limitation i know of, is that it only refers to the last 10,000 comments on the journal.

Well, that's what I was told. When I tried running it there were folks who didn't show up in the tally at all because they only posted to my friends only posts. It did strangely pick up posts that I had deleted from my journal from spammer accounts that were no longer valid accounts on LJ, which was even weirder.
