Weird, kinda nifty dream

Last night, I dreamed that there was this race, on pogo sticks, through a history/natural history museum. It was a reasonably big event, mainly played for fun. You'd sign up, pay your entrance fee, and you'd get to rent a pogo stick. The course through the museum was described in a booklet, and they had put up interesting displays all along the course route, so that you'd be tempted to just stop and look at these biographies of historical figures, or dioramas of carnivorous dinosaurs using pack hunting tactics, or whatever, and not be racing.
Since the race apparently attracted geeks, this was a significant factor in the race.
Along the race route, they put balloons all along the floor.
Lis took me to this race, and we signed up, getting the last two pogo sticks. It was only like $20 a person. We were handed little booklets describing the pogo sticks, a little about the history of the museum pogo stick race, and detailing the race route. Apparently, the race had originally been aimed mainly at kids, who had started a tradition of wearing costumes while racing (there was a picture of two eight-year olds, one dressed as the Thing, and one dressed as the Hulk, racing towards the finish line). Nowadays, most of the people racing were adults, although there was also a kids' division, but many of the adults maintained the tradition of wearing costumes -- often elaborate ones -- while racing. Because the event had gotten SO large, if you were actually a serious competitor, there was sort of a starting lineup thing like they have for marathons -- if you'd won or placed in previous years, or did well in a trial heat ahead of time, you got a starting position towards the front of the pack, and if you were just there for fun, you were just in the middle. If you were in the back of the pack, it was probably physically impossible for you to pass everybody before you got to the finish line.
Anyway, the race started, and you immediately heard lots of popping balloons, since it was a tradition that every single balloon which lined the race path had to be popped by pogoing on it. Unfortunately, Lis's foot cramped up in the first couple minutes, and I got both lost and tired -- I ended up pogoing down the wrong staircase, and having to go back up, after which my legs were really too tired to continue, so we just gave up walked around looking at the dioramas and watching the OTHER people race, and staying out of the way.
As it turned out, in my dream,
sunspiral won. He was also wearing an impressive anthropomorphic falcon costume -- I thought originally it was Horus, but the clothing wasn't actually Egyptian.
That's about all I remember of the dream, now. But I just think that a pogo-stick race through a natural history/history museum where people wear costumes and pop balloons sounds like a lot of fun.
