Not a cat psychologist, but you might want to think your way thru the implications of Seph taking over your lap. Remember that cat's are egocentric and not concerned with your needs / wants. Sitting in your lap may be an act of dominance -- this is now MY lap, and it just happens to be attached to that human. So Seph might be reserving you as hers (his?) rather than just taking up time and space in your lap. If Boop were more possessive of ownership over you, Seph might be exhibiting a bit of passive aggression by showing that she can control your attention ...
(a) from what I've seen/heard from Dave & Sami, Seph has always been clingy towards people
(b) Boopsie is definitely not a lapcat and never has been. Sometimes I've characterized her as more like a housemate than a pet in the way she associates with us.
