So we're decorating. . .
Oct. 13th, 2003 01:18 amLis and I are finally unpacking boxes we haven't had room to unpack since we moved in here nearly four years ago. And we're setting up our downstairs area, now that we're just renting out one room of it, rather than the entire floor. And we want to use it for social area and stuff like that, so we're moving all our games and stuff down there. We're looking for tables, bookshelves, chairs, all sorts of stuff. We'll find some, buy some, build some.
We were at Costco today, and I found an end-table I want. It's one of those tables with a chessboard built into the top with places to keep the chessmen and so forth. Mostly hand-crafted, way more money than we feel right spending right now . . .
We so don't need it. And we have SO many other higher priorities for money, and for stuff to buy for the downstairs. Besides, we already HAVE a beautiful wooden chessboard that Dad made when he was a teenager, and my stone chess set to put on it. And we're planning on getting all unfinished wood stuff so that we can stain it all to match the wood downstairs. But it's so nifty. . . . covet. . .
We bought a bunch of reasonably-nice TV trays which we are going to use as end-tables for a couple weeks until we find or build better end tables. But this way, we can start getting things set up.
