I agree with you 110% about the what you said. In fact, I was just talking with an Episcopalian fiend of mine over lunch (before I saw this post) about someone on an E. discussion board who said "I said Kaddish for the Pittsburgh victims". My response was: um, thank you for your kind thoughts, but that's not the appropriate way to act on them.
On the other hand, as you said, that doesn't come close to the vileness of so-called "Messianic Jews".
