In case you're wondering how we dealt with the storm:

I mentioned that the place that I was tending bar lost power. Our house lost power, too, around 8. So Lis went to bed early while I was working. It was back on before we woke up the next morning.

And the weather warmed up so fast that I didn't get a chance to shovel the driveway and walk before all the snow melted.

So that was our Snowpocalypse -- a power outage while we were asleep and snow that didn't last long enough to shovel. Turn the evil eye, but most of the worst of the bad weather tends to miss out house.

We had power out at our new house (as you said, lights out all over Andover) but since we are not living there yet it mostly meant little. And it was back on by the time the chimneysweep showed to clean the chimney, so the primary effect over there was that the roof was too slick to put on a chimney cap.
