Putting things in perspective

In the past month, I've injured my shoulder, lost my job, my grandfather died, and we've got what's likely to end up as well over $10K in household repairs and improvements necessary.

It has NOT been a good month.

But you know? It's STILL better than an average day for me before the depression was adequately treated. The worst day WITHOUT depression is still better than the best day WITH it.

That is so true.

That's really saying something. I'm happy for you that you've been able to get past it. (Now if all the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune will leave you alone for a while...)

I'm very sorry; I missed the lost job experience. That really stinks. Don't let it discourage you on your professional quests. *hugs*

...it must be contagious. I'm having my first day where I don't have a sense of bleak despair underneath everything else.

Wow.

Ugh...this has been a really rough month for you. I'm glad you're still keeping some perspective on things that it's not as bad as it's been before.
