Random Rocky Horror & Batman thoughts
May. 8th, 2003 09:23 amThis morning, Lis mentioned that she thought that Harley Quinn would make a good Columbia. So we found ourselves figuring out which Batman: Animated Series characters would do well playing which Rocky Horror characters.
So, to start, it seemed obvious to me that, if the Joker didn't get to play Frank, everybody would be found dead with big grins on their faces. So Joker gets to play Frankenfurter. (Clearly, the Joker can't play Brad, because of the line in "Damnit Janet": "Here's a ring to prove that I'm no Joker.")
If Harley's playing Columbia, it seemed only fair to let Poison Ivy play Magenta. And she'd do fine with that role. Lis had the brainstorm that Two-Face would make a good Riff ("I thought you liked him. He liked you." "He didn't like me. HE NEVER LIKED ME!!!!" I mean, you can see Ivy and Dent doing that, can't you?)
There are, of course, several choices for Narrator. Harvey Bullock could do the Charles Gray version, since he has no neck. Alfred wouldn't be bad if you went more for a Dick Cavett vibe.
Lis suggested The Creeper for Eddie. It rather works. . .
Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon could play Brad and Janet. They'd be good at it. And then you could use Bruce as Dr. Scott. Yeah, that means spillitting up Dr. Scott and Eddie. But they did that in the movie, so it should be possible.
One could use Harvey Bullock and Renee Montoya as Ralph Hapschatt and Betty Munroe.
The rest of the Batman Rogues' Gallery could play the Translyvanians.
So that leaves Rocky. That's the one we're having trouble with. Lis suggested Clayface, which is okay, I guess. I suggested Flex Mentallo, who isn't in the animated series. . .
Any suggestions? Maybe Bane?
