That sound?

That's the sound of my eyebrows not only going up into my hairline, but over the top of my head and down my neck and spine.

I'm voting for awesome, myself, but I'm a big ol' fangirl over Manilow.

That's the thing -- I actually tend to like a lot of Manilow stuff, and I actually tend to like "Never Gonna Give You Up". But it's not really a great song for his voice and style.

Which adds just ANOTHER layer of confusion onto the "awesome or horrifying" thing.

I'm a Manilow fan from long ago, but ... somehow, I feel like I just got RickRolled by a 70s AM station. ;-)

I happen to love it, but then I am a major fanilow! I got a kick of seeing the video.

Did you watch or hear about the Macy's Day Parade, they had the actual Rick Astley singing on a float. He was on the 'Foster's Imaginary friends float. The characters were singing 'People let me tell you bout my best friend' when Rick stepped out of a door and started singing.

Macy's Rickrolled us.

awesome - I loved it - it got me dancing in my chair - but then, I'm kind of old-fashioned and nostalgic for the 80's - do you remember dancing in the kitchen? - it wasn't to Manilow, but still... ooo, how about a disco ball in the meditation room?

My mom insists on watching the Today show in the morning, and what did we see today, about 8:30 am, but Barry Manilow doing this song in the freezing cold to a large audience of standees outside the NBC studio in Rockefeller Center. There was no way I could explain to mom how bizarre it was to see him singing this.
