Sure, but that's not universal. The "someone" to whom I referred struggles with the desire to be supportive of close friends who have entered into a same-sex marriage, but nevertheless finds it very difficult to consider same-sex marriage acceptable.
Then again, I'm told there are openly gay people who themselves are against allowing gay marriage.
