Well, you should certainly keep doing it if it works for you (and is fun besides).

People are different and learn differently... when I was in school, we were supposed to take notes; the teachers looked down on us, as if we were goofing off, when we didn't. Not taking notes was treated as "deviant" and "socially inappropriate."

I think it's OK to do that in high school, when most students are learning how to learn... but we're all adults now. If someone is not taking notes, we should presume there is a good reason - not that they are lazy or disinterested.

People, like you and Ian, who get something out of taking notes should take notes. People like me should not be required to; both habits should be considered "normal" and "appropriate."

For all that, I sort of miss the ability to take notes... when it works, it clearly has advantages. Oh the other hand, because I can't take notes effectively, I've developed a good memory.
