Doesn't "Jack Chick" sound like the name of a gritty noir two-fisted detective hero?

And doesn't "Doctor Bronner" sound like the name of someone who might be a bad guy he was trying to put away?

It couldn't be a fanfic -- it would have to be a comic. But it would work.

"Yeah, Doc -- your syncretism might fool some of those mooks out there -- but you know as well as I do that it's a one-way ticket to hell. I know what you're up to -- and I'm going to take you down."

The name Jack Chick sort of does have a Mike Hammer sort of feel to it, but the name has too much baggage to work in fiction.

"You're all washed up, Doc Bronner!"

The Devil Dilutes would make a great name for this masterpiece of fiction.

See, now, THAT'S the kind of creative, artistic judgement that we need around here!

You could do it as a radio play. . .

He's a proselytizing comic author who's out of touch with reality! He's a verbose soap manufacturer with a penchant for graphic design!

They fight crime!

I think I'd prefer slashfic.

*agrees heartily*

Also, a fanfic comic can be done --- I've seen it done more than once, and my icon is a piece of fanart drawn by one of the artists I saw do it. It just takes a long time.

Didn't Jack Chick do a series of lurid, two-fisted comics against the evil forces of the Vatican? I cannot believe I forgot what it was called.

Coming soon to a multi-plex near you!

"Chick vs. Bronner: Soap Wars!" I would pay to see that.
And check this out: www.316now.com is a site with short films based on actual Jack Chick Tracts. They have "Angels?" and "Doom Town" and a bunch more.
You will dig it while we wait for your movie!

Jack Chick is one of those weird Fundamentalist Baptist types who believe in a version of Christianity which states that being a good person has nothing to do with whether you go to heaven -- it's all about whether you believe in Jesus or not. If you do, and you're a lousy person, heaven, if you don't, and you're a saint, hell.

He writes these little tiny comic book-tracts expounding his philosopyy, in which good people go to hell and other people go to heaven. They're called "Chick tracts", and I'm surprised that you've not seen them, because I thought I brought some home from high school once or twice.

If you didbring them home, you didn't show them to me. I think I would have remembered something like that. Even the Christians I know would be offended by his notion.
