I love erev Simchat Torah. Which means that it sucks when one gets food poisoning, and then spends the afternoon and evening alternately throwing up and fitfully napping.

I'm feeling better now, and seem to have lost a pound, and done a good abdominal workout. Instead of Hebrew School today, we're having Simchat Torah services, so I'll go out and manage to get to those, at least. But I really wanted to see who I could find at Tremont Street last night, since so many of my friends were certainly there.

There was an entry yesterday which recorded Samuel's visit to a synagogue during a Simchat Torah service.

Thanks for sending this entry. Good thing Mr. Pepy's didn't go to synagogue on Purim!

Glad you are feeling better today. So sorry you missed Simchat Torah at Tremont Street. I remember many fun times at TS on ST when you were younger.

I'm glad you're feeling better now. I'm curious... what is special about erev Simchas Torah? Erev Simchas Torah outside of Israel is Shemini Atzeres and most people think SA isn't that interesting.

Around here, the bigger Simchat Torah parties are at night. You do hakafot on the morning of Simchat Torah, but you also do hakafot on erev. And the Tremont Street Shul, for instance, blocks off the whole road and there's dancing in the streets.
