xiphiasLis and I are landlords, which can be a source of stress. Our upstairs tenant called us this evening letting us know that a light had exploded when she was changing it, and then all the lights in the stairwell went out.
This terrified me. It sounded expensive and dangerous.
So, I invited my father over for dinner. We changed the lightbulb and turned the circuit breaker back on. That was a lot less painful than I thought it might be. . .
In other news, a friend of mine emailed me something forwarded to her. A temple in Somerville is looking for a first-grade Hebrew School teacher. So I emailed them putting my name forward.
Sounds like they're interested in me. Sure, I haven't taught since I was eighteen, ten years ago, but my mother is one of the Big Names in Jewish Education In the Boston Area. And apparently, the genetic argument holds weight.
