Wisdom teeth, day 3 update, and to-do list

So, my muscles are a LOT better. They've gone from "beaten with a baseball bat" level of sore to "worked out yesterday" level of sore -- the kind of soreness that's almost PLEASANT.

Oddly, my gums feel slightly more painful on swallowing than yesterday, but that may just be because of the lack of other pain to distract from them. When not swallowing or opening my mouth, they feel only very mildly sore.

I do suspect that the protein-loading has been helping.

I was supposed to have an appointment this morning, but I asked Lis to cancel it. In retrospect, I think I COULD have just about handled the appointment and all, but it would have been a near thing, so, given that I COULD cancel the appointment, it was probably the right thing to do.

So, things to do today:
Sleep.
Take all medicines on schedule
Consume as much protein in liquid form as I can.
Shower. Hey, I did it yesterday, and I feel much better today than I did then.
Brush teeth, very carefully. Again, I did it yesterday.
When Lis gets home . . . consider asking her to drive me out to the gym to hang out in the sauna for a half hour or so. Depending on how my gums feel. Saunas increase blood pressure, so if my gums aren't pretty much healed, it woudn't be a good idea -- but it would help the soreness.

For what it's worth, I've lost three pounds in the past couple days. I suspect it's water loss, so I should make sure to drink more water.

Just don't try to force chicken or beef through a juicer. Not only does it not work well, the eventual results are disgusting.

Then again, there's always the method used in the Boris' Kitchen sketch, "Faster Food Faster" which I also don't recommend.

Yeah, well, I don't smoke, so I don't have to worry about that one.

Swishing warm salt water around in your mouth--hourly, if possible--will help your gums. So will swishing with Benadryl mixed 50/50 with Maalox (use generics).

I've been doing the salt-water thing, yep. It was part of the aftercare instructions given to me -- well, to Lis, because I was drugged out of my gourd -- by the oral surgeon.

The sauna shouldn't raise your blood pressure enough to dislodge any clots that may still be in your gums. If it does, then you should stay out of saunas under any circumstances. Strokes are not our friends.

I'm glad you're improving.:)
