That's sad. Secret Garden is one of the best musicals - so beautiful and haunting. I wonder if she saw a good or bad production. I definitely wouldn't call Secret Garden a mediocre adaptation myself - and it sounds like she had a problem with the style of musical (it's more of an operetta than a musical) rather than the adaptation.
But that wasn't really the point of your post... :-)
