Today's been a good day so far.

It being the beginning of a new month, I finally re-signed up at the gym, where I haven't been in, like, a year. And I did a (very) light workout.

And I feel better than I have in a long time.

The nice weather has something to do with that, too.

But I feel like my whole life has sort of turned into a giant tangled snarled knotted mess, and going to the gym is the first step in taking a pin and teasing one of the strings out.

I mean, my body's in such bad shape that I can't do things, which makes my emotions all a mess, which saps my ability to get my body together. . .

But not any more. Today's the day that changes. I can feel it.

I'm glad to hear it. The weather's lifted everyone's spirits around here too. Even though it's going to rain this weekend, a warmish sunny day seems to have a delightful effect. :)

I really hope this isn't an April Fool!

Glad to hear it. Best of luck!

Do it, brother.

If I don't keep up the physical activities - gym, etc - other things in my life fall apart - mood, health, sleep - lots of things.

Don't make yourself crazy - don't commit to an overextended schedule - push yourself but don't hurt yourself. And don't get discouraged - it takes a little while to get back up to speed and there's no shame in taking it slow. I know - I was out for a couple of weeks (I know, it sounds like nothing, but a couple of weeks is enough to start to make me crazy!) and the first time back, it's *hard*!

But, do it. It's good and good for you!

Yay you!

when do you workout?

Sometimes it is easier when you have someone to workout with. Let me know what you're schedule is like.

Given that I haven't seen you in approximately forever, I'm in favor of this. As it is, I signed up at the Danvers YMCA, because it's half the price of the Malden or Medford ones. ($40 signup fee, $30 a month for the "health club membership", which just means that you get to use the nicer locker room, the one with the sauna. They've also got a pool table in there. Just sayin'. . . ) My plan is to drive Lis to work in Ipswich, dropping her off at 8:30, and working out in Danvers at around 9 AM. I don't know what hours you're working these days -- if you're working a lateish but not insanely late shift, would that work for you?

These days I work noon to 8 pm, Monday to Friday, more or less. Which means I can show up a little late or leave a little early. I can make a 9 am workout, but already have a gym membership in Malden. What is the cost of a guest or 1 day pass for the Y?

Also, how many days a week are you working out? Do you have the address for the Danvers Y?

Good for you! The first step is always the hardest.

congrats on getting back to the gym. I'll be starting my workouts again very soon, too.
